View Full Version : Current market value on COLT LE6920?
Hey guys,
I know colt is back in the market for selling civilian ARs and I’ve seen crazy prices for some of the older colt M4s. I’m wondering how much these would go for if they were the 2013 models that didn’t have that stupid QR code on the lower. Are they worth anything or is the market so bogged down with ARs (especially Colts) that they have no added value? If they were worth something I’d probably sell mine off. I must’ve paid about $1k for it almost 9 years back.
I bet you could safely get your money back adjusted for inflation if it’s new in the box.
You can get the OEM model 6929s for $789, so add $100 or so and there you have it. At the current point, you simply have a 9 year old Colt. Six months from now, prices may spike again, in which case they should be back to $1,300.
I kind of figured as much. Not like any of their 1911s or older pythons. With that being said I don’t really see the need to hang onto it considering I have two other ARs.
Thanks guys.
Keep it. Shave the FSB and put on whatever handguard you like and it’s as good as anything out there.
Only reason I want to sell is since I already have a Spikes custom build I put together and a KAC SR15. The Colt just sits in the safe.
You could get your money back, that's about it.

What about a NIB "2013 model" with the p/w FH, SOCOM barrel, and "Property of U.S. Government M4A1" marked lower? Knight's RAS, Matech BUIS, etc. Basically all the stuff that came with it (and the box too!). I bought it from Grant in 2018. I don't like to use Gunbroker as a guide for realistic prices.
I sold a few 2013 6920s recently for $1500 each.

Yeah IIRC that is what I paid for mine. Oh well.

Yup, but the prices dropped as soon as Botach started pushing online emails for $900. Same with Unlimted Arms. This only happened in the last few weeks.
Had the OP asked a month again, it would have been a different price story.

Yeah but mine isn't a "regular" 6920 like the OP was asking about. I was replying to the guy who said he sold a few "2013" 6920 models for $1500 recently. That is about what I paid for mine in the summer of 2018, so no major motivation to sell right now I guess.
Mine is a 2013 model. Roll marked M4 Carbine and no QR code’s.

I meant the oft-mentioned "2013" model, not necessarily one made in 2013. Marked "Property of US Government M4A1 Carbine" with ambi safety, Knight's RAS, Matech BUIS, SOCOM barrel p/w to make it 16". Without looking I think it has the QR code. Basically what is issued to our troops nowadays minus the happy switch.

Even in 2013 those models could never be found by me. The LE6920 was attainable but not everywhere. Now, even the CR6920 are no where to be found.
They are worth what people are willing to pay for them, some may not pay $1,500 for LE mkd 6920 carbines, but some will.
The Carbine marked CR 6920s are all over the place in Texas.
I looked at a bunch of them the other day and they looked good to me.
The only thing that I noted was the hammer wasn’t notched and the trigger didn’t have the dents in the side like they used to, but they were Schmid marked like always.
They’re priced around $1K.

If all the markings on the lower are stamped, the upper and barrel are C instead CAGE marked, I could see it bringing $1500 pretty easily.
I divested of all my M4 carbine marked LE lowers during the CR transition/election run on guns and made out like a bandit and I didn’t sell as high as others were at the time.

Yes I’ve seen videos with the new Colts having cage codes. Mine just has a C stamped into most parts as well as forged markings like the keyhole.
So the “restricted" roll mark doesn't matter? Still just an older colt?
I think they can bring more than the M4 ones. Some people like the restricted markings.

To the vast majority of people, no, it is simply an older gun.

Some do indeed, but not like it used to be right after the AWB.
I think the demand for those types of things peak right after ‘they quit making ‘em’ and the internet scuttlebutt is awash in tales of woe about the doomed company and the now piss-poor products that the once great Colt of olden days will never make again.
Colt collectors are a weird bunch.

Lots of stuff that Colt made in the past but may never make again. They call it 'discontinued'...
Glad I got the things I did when they were readily available. :)
Had a first time AR buyer pick up a CR from PSA for $900...
Interestingly enough, I just went to check current FFL prices on 6920s and all of my wholesalers have handguns only, no rifles. And I don't mean in stock, but not even listed as available. Somebody told me recently Colt is doing something retarded like requiring all FFLs to go "dealer direct."
So right now if I wanted to buy a 6920 for myself at dealer price, I couldn't.

So basically Colt is still batting a thousand?
I had to search every gun store on Long Island for the Combat Elite. Luckily found one with it in stock. I was told by multiple stores here that they have "everything" Colt on order with no availability. I've seen some Pythons mostly in 4.25" pop up here and there of late, however.

Seems every 10 years or so they do something incredibly stupid. And it's been about 10 years.
