I picked up this old Colt 22 at the LGS for abt. $ 520. It had been sitting there for awhile. It seems there are not many people interested in those vintage rimfire pistol. As it’s often the case with older Colts, it’s very well made, full steel, nice blueing and a very good trigger. It has some patina, it’s far from new so I won’t be shy about shooting this gun or taking it on hiking trips. Made in 1963 and likely imported new and proofed in Germany that same year.

As is often the case, I went straight from the LGS to the 25 meters indoor range. I shot CCI SV, the gun performed flawlessly without a single malfunction

I've got my Dads in one of my safes somewhere. They are nice shooters.

I've got the same pistol. They are pretty sweet. I wish I had though to buy more mags for it years ago. David

This is the one gun I regret selling! Arguably as good a match gun as a S&W 41, but never developed a following.
I put on a set of Combat Camp Perry grips and a ramp front sight, and shot a ton of rabbits and squirrels as my personal woods gun back in the day when I was competing with 41's on the line in the 60's. It'll shoot "x's" all day if you do your part.

Man, that is sweet! About 25 years ago my brother was on “back road” tour of Europe and stopped in every gun store he could find. The “stuff” he found then would make any collector drool uncontrollably lol! Recently, he went back to a few places in Europe as a family man with a bit more “ resources” then a single guy back in the day. Once again, he saw a lot of gun shop awesomeness available. Wouldn’t surprise me if he explores options to get a few items imported back into the USA.

Those are awesome, I got my uncles when he passed away. I remember shooting it when I was a kid and always liked it so it was nice for my aunt to let me have it, I’ll pass it on to my nephew when the time is right.

Have one myself. The build quality on these guns is quite high. And they shoot! Guns come and go, but mine is part of my "permanent" collection.
