Easily the lightest AR I have. 14.7" (A1 FH perm-attached), CL barrel with A1 upper and CAR handguards. Have the Israeli black and green handguard/buttstock bands on it.

I was wondering about one of those carry handle mounted Meprolight or similar setups for a red dot. I know it will add a little weight but it should be more centered as opposed to front or rear heavy.

I am no stranger to irons (on all of my long-guns) but I am getting with the last 20 years or so and diggin' the red dots!

Are those mounts steady? Lightest RDS that is still easily viewable?

Obviously the Picatinny rail mounting system is much more sturdy, and I'd wager the M-Lok/KeyMod are more so than a carry handle mount (never used one). ,

I wouldn’t put one on a carry handle. Offset just too much. Just run irons like a stallion. If that is what your asking.

Might consider the primary arms micro prism.

They use ACOGs mount footprint so you can direct mount to the carry handle without the weight of an adapter.

A couple of pics on carry handle here https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2021/09/14/primary-arms-slx-1x-microprism/amp/

Especially if you have aging eyes.
