Remove the handguard and gas block, then use a pin gauge or the back of a drill bit to measure the diameter of the port. It'll likely be between .078 and .085, judging by how most commercial AR makers like to hog out their gas ports.

With that said there is no nominal specification for 16", midlength, 5.56 NATO chambered barrels. Most manufacturers worth their sauce tend to port them around .076, but IMHO that's too big for 5.56 ammo or use with a suppressor. The Colt 6960 CCU was ported at .071, and Daniel Defense currently ports theirs at .073, which seems to be the sweet spot as long as you're not shooting Tula.

Shooting brass ammo only, possible suppressor use in the future. Gas port measured at .070, currently running an h buffer as well. Should be good right?

Should be fine but I would start with a carbine buffer. .070” is the smallest port on a 16” mid I’ve heard of. Most are .076”+, but I have really liked the .071” Colts I’ve seen.

Yeah. .070 sounds small.

Its definitely a mid length, i have a pin gauge set on order to double verify.

I did, however I'm not sure how accurate they are

Been running an H in it for about 400 rounds now and ita definitely very smooth. Just pulled it apart to have the gas block pinned and replace the troy rail with a geissele mk7 and figured might as well make sure its gassed properly as I do plan on running a can on it in the future.
