Is the valmet pronged flash hider effective?

I don't see why it wouldn't be just as effective as any other three prong flash hider but apparently it's rare enough that I can't find any info about it's actual effectiveness.

I am hypothesizing about the possibility of mounting a v a l m e t pronged flash hider on a dissipator style build with the hopes that I'd be able to then mount a v a l m e t bayonet. A regular M7 M9 bayonet being not possible to mount on a dissipator.

I know it's a weird idea but I'm a weird person so I'm cool with it.

Yes, the Valmet flash hider is very effective at hiding flash. There was a company, a few years ago, that made them in 1/2x28 for the AR. By all accounts, they worked very well.

I stumble across a reference to those that you are talking about. They were made by Suarez in 2014 and did not have the bayonet lug. And, they are long long gone.

Bummer!
