FACTS TO PONDER

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000.

(Yes, that's 80 million..)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups,
is 1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0001 88

Statistics courtesy of FBI

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun
owners.

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on

lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical
attention

I would love to know if these "statistics" are actually true. I first saw this about 4 years ago, and I can't believe that the statistics are still the same. It is easy to say, "Statistics courtesy of..." But is that actually true?

DISCLAIMER--
I am not accusing anyone of fabricating the information. I am merely questioning whether anyone has a reliable source.

What say, you, fellow riflemen? Anyone have a link, source or verification?

The statistics are accurate, but taken out of context.
It's like comparing Apples and Oranges.

They've been "all over the internet" for several years.
Sounds good on paper but in real life......

:p lol no harm in questioning the info, i'm a natural born skeptic as is, so i have to respect that in others.

the info may be out of date; the person who sent it to me usually has good sources and doesn't link info that is of dubious nature.

more then anything, i was posting it as a humorous view of the saying: "These are the statistics as best presented to support my case".

But we're going through a cold and snow spell here right now, and a bit of flaming would heat things up, so hopefully i'll hear from people who really want to contest the issue, and see how they would debate a joke

edit..........would this be considered "hunting in a baited spot"???

Flaming is not intended. It's just that those statistics have been posted
numerous times in the past.

I know that to be a fact, because that's what I was told when I posted them
several months ago on another gun forum.

You hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately statistics and facts are irrelevant to liberals and todays media. Perception trumps reality. Perception is todays reality. Truth is only what you can convince people to believe. With all of todays knowledge and information easier and more available to access, people today are more ignorant than ever before. IMHO. Many of these same people also consider themselves educated and more civilized than the rest of us. They couldn't be more mistaken. They are just sheep.
