Last fall I bought an air compressed pistol in order to hone my skills at one handed precision shooting at 10 m during the winter season, in preparation for the summer season with a .22 lr pistol at 25 and 50 m. Quite a challenge since I’ve spent the last 34 years shooting two handed.

Found a good deal on a barely used German Feinwerkbau P8X. Still those things are expensive at $ 1300 (instead of $ 2000 new).

10 m doesn’t sound like much, but the target is tiny. And the hand keeps moving.

Also did my first competition in early January. 40 shots in 50 minutes on electronic targets. That didn’t go too well. It’s a learning curve. There’s a ton of adjustable parameters, grip angle, line of sight, sight width, weights etc.. Confusing for a guy who shot a ton of service pistols and revolvers

Man, I thought my Beeman break barrel air rifle that I bought back in 82 was expensive.

I have fond memories of shooting 10M air pistol a few times in college. Wasn’t my main event but it was fun. Good training for shooting 50M free pistol as well.

I set up a simple 10 m range in the front yard, shooting from inside the garage

I had a Morini air pistol, wish I still had it during these current times.
