I have a buddy wanting to purchase their first AR.
I typically recommend a 16" Colt or BCM or something along those lines based on budget and availability.
We were looking at Colt 6960 for ~$1200.
I know there's some talk about Colt outsourcing manufacturing, but I have seen no evidence of inferior quality since then.
Another buddy who works at a local shop has a NIB Zev AR in stock that he said he could do for $1200.

I know that Zev bought Mega, and is OEM for Hodge and SOLGW receivers. However, we have had terrible luck with their OZ9.
What do we think?
I think I know what the answer will be...
