How difficult is it, if you've only ever shot milspec, to get used to using a 2 stage trigger??

Maybe... a Geissele SSA?

It is the most natural transition you could hope for to change. When you do a precision shot the 2 stage feels natural, when you are slamming ammo on mag dumps you do not notice it. Centurion makes a SSA knock off that is pretty impressive. Take a look if you might.

Not difficult at all. The best thing is that if you do not like it, you can always put it back to stock in 5 minutes.

If the 2-stage is a quality item, you likely won't sense any difference other than an improved feel over a basic mil-spec trigger. When pushing the trigger slowly, you'll likely detect the 2-stages. If you fire it as most people do, it'll feel like an upgraded single stage. I mostly prefer a 2-stage setup but it must be fired as such to reap any perceived benefit from it.

Yeah, that's what i'd been told about the Geissele. I'm probably going to upgrade. That Ruger Lower's trigger (I put a colt upper on the damn thing) is just the donkey's wang, man.

The difference is immediate and impressive. Papa bear summed it up nicely. It’s like going from a flood light to a spot light, both have their uses, and both work fine, but there is a clear difference.

What trigger did you have in mind?

ETA- I use a modified SSA in my duty carbine.

It's more difficult for me coming off a bolt gun single stage. Swapping from single to 2 stage between ARs, I don't notice a thing for the most part... unless trying to shoot a group on paper.

Pretty much this. I don’t see much difference when hammering targets up close.

Entryteam, I love your signature block. I used to have a Marine coworker that was a vocal pacifist and buddhist, but was known to kill the shit out of people. He also was somehow good at making fun of Admirals to their faces and getting away with it. I need to reach out to that guy.

Thank you sir! I think it's from Lao Tzu's Book of Change, but I'm not certain.

Heavier disconnect or spring. It gives a little heavier trigger pull while keeping the clean break of the SSA. Makes sense for my needs and uses.
