I worked mids for 4yrs straight at age 31-34. I was never more ill in my entire life. Fun shift, awful hours. I think I averaged 6hrs of sleep, but sometimes only got 4.

I know guys that have worked midnight shift for 17yrs straight, and have aged 30yrs in that time.

Why would anyone get a degree in criminal justice though? The Feds are no different than the private sector and a degree in criminal justice doesn’t really convey much.

Fed LE is scooping up CPAs like it’s going out of style. Anyone with a degree and working knowledge of finance is being thrown so many GS13 Agent positions that they get to be picky.

Also I don’t think veteran matters as much as it used to - sure you get preference but that just gets you to the BQ list. Agencies are realizing that if they want quality hires they need varied experiences that involve something other than “I can follow instructions”
