Lots of plates out there these days it seems. Some better than others, all seem a little different spec wise. Looking to mount an Acro on a Glock 45 MOS. I know some plates are thinner than others which will mean I can forgo suppressor height sights.

Anyone have an Acro mounted with a quality plate that sits low enough to be able to use the standard height sights?

Ours ;)

Sight sets with 0.365 front sight will be needed for ACRO P1/P2. If you use a Steiner MPS, 0.315" front sight height is enough for lower 1/3, but if you have dots/tritium, you'll need to raise it to 0.365 for MPS and RMR.

FCD is definitely the way for Glock MOS.

FCD - been running since February with a P2 on. 19 MOS.

ACRO might be low enough for standard sights but I already bought suppressor height ones and have the tools to install.

You have the answer.

ACRO's window is more square than rectangular, and there is more bezel at 6 o'clock than the MPS and RMR. For that reason, a 0.315 front sight height sight sets are all but unusable with the P1/P2, while they work fine with RMR and MPS.

What would be absolute co-witness for RMR and MPS would be lower 1/3 on the ACRO.

That hasn't been my experience. I have 4 ACRO P2s all mounted with FCD plates using Ameriglo GL-429 (.315 high front) sights and I think they are perfect.

The bottom of the Aimpoint's window blocks the very bottom of the rear notch, but it is still very usable. Since they are back up sights I'd prefer them to take up as little room in the window as possible. It is hard to get a good picture since my phone wants to keep switching lenses, but this gives an idea of what the sight picture looks like. I find it even more usable in real life though.

They are rather hard to see at that height, just barely usable. They probably satisfy agency requirements for backup sights though.

Here is a better image of his the .315 front sights actually look in real life. They are definitely lower in the window than with an RMR, but I would consider that a positive and I really wouldn’t consider them any less usable than if they were higher. If anything, I think they make the ACRO more usable.

I like it.

Thanks for the pics. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I like the idea of having the iron sights as low as possible. I think I’ll start off that way and if I don’t like it, go with taller sights. No biggie.

But thanks dontshakepandas for the pics .

Dontshakepanda- Which adapter plate are you using?

He states in post #7 all mounted with FCD plates using Ameriglo GL-429 (.315 high front) sights.

You are welcome!

Now I just need to find a few more ACROs for non Glock use.

Steiner MPS is a good alternative. Battery life isn't as good, it uses CR1632 battery, but it's an enclosed emitter sight that uses ACRO footprint.
