P229/228 Magazines

Can you use a P228 mag in a P229?

I notice some say P228/229 in the adds for magazines

and others just say P228

I own the Mec-Gar 15rd magazines and they have worked fine for me in a 229. They are also flush fit as are the factory 13rd magazines. You should be gtg.

You can use 228 mags in 9mm 229s.

The mags used to have 228 printed on them when they 229 didn't exist. Now 9mm 228/229 mags just have 9mm printed on them and the 229 .40/.357 mags have .40/.357 printed on them.

My early two 229 mags only have .40 printed on them because at the time .357SIG wasn't invented yet.
