View Full Version : Heavier spring for aftermarket slide
With grey ghost precision s sale I figured it was a good time to try an rmr on my Glock with modifying the factory slide. From their website it looks like their slide is roughly 3oz lighter than Glock factory. Would I need to step up to a 20lb spring or will the factory 17lb be fine? Or is this a have a few weights on hand and tune it situation?

95% probability that you'll be fine with the factory spring.
I'm running one G17 slide with a Holosun 507c with the stock recoil spring and haven't experienced any issues. I'll be doing the same with a G19 here eventually.
Also, the general rule is "lighter slide, lighter spring weight", so if anything I'd be looking at going down not up.
