Yes, the obvious is clear concerning safety and security comparisons..... Posting for those that might have a particular need that a safe simply doesn't make sense for.

That is some sexy stuff...if I ever own enough weapons to warrant one of those, and I can fit it in my closet, you can bet its going in :D

Right now, an AR-15, GSG-5 and XD9 dont warrant one, though :p

The gunsmith down the road from me has a cage in his shop. I think that he made his.

Any idea how secure these are?

I am/was in the market for a gun safe but after watching videos of dudes knocking over a safe and pry-bar attacking them and opening the safe in under 2 min has made me wonder. Seems like one of these lockers would be less secure...but maybe if it were bolted to a wall...?

The simple fact it is perforated says it isnt very secure to me...more of a quick access thing like in .mil armories...

I think most of those systems are for a secure armory setting. We have The Combat Weapon Storage Systems racks in ours. They do have a tamper proof lock but are mainly for organizing large amounts of weapons & are made out of very thin metal.

I'll actually be looking into getting a safe early next year. Those all looked pretty solid. But the thing that concerns me the most these days is fire protection.

Considering the current political situation, you're talking about items that could potentially be irreplaceable down the road. If you're going to keep 'em under lock and key, you might as well have something that gives you a chance to beat the heat too.
