Chapek, then the head of Disney’s parks division, took over the CEO position from Iger in 2020. Yet the new CEO quickly garnered criticism for public relations missteps, political controversy, and unpopular business decisions—which, combined with Disney’s recent poor earnings, may have pushed the board to replace Chapek. Disney shares are down 41.4% overall for the year.

I'd like to think that the woke BS was why he got whacked, but as CEO, 41% stock loss will get you whacked just because.

Bob Iger is woke.... but Bob Iger understands that Disney's first priority is to make money. Chapek is a soup sandwich and utterly ruined the "Disney Experience" for patrons visiting Disney parks and resorts. His policies aren't being called about being woke, it is about how he made the parks lose money with things like Genie+/Lightening Lane, Park Reservations, crippling Park Hopper Passes, ending early access to the parks for resort patrons, etc...
