Doesn't the KAC 600m or their 300m BUIS allow the ACOG to be mounted at least one notch more to the rear than, say, a Matech? I want a BUIS on all my long guns and yet have to work with the ACOG's stingy eye relief. Asking before I spend the $$$ on a KAC rear BUIS assuming it's better than the Matech for my question. Going to be on an A4 clone.

KAC 600m will go furthest rear with a LT-622 mount.

From personal experience...Just stick the ACOG as far back as needed to get the best eye relief and delete the BUIS. The ACOG is pretty farcking durable.

I have the magpul pro and kram riser. The rear sight tucks under it nicely

Kram riser is the way to go.

Yep. No rear flipper on my gun.

Technically you could mount the rear buis in front of the ACOG. It's not like it can be used with the ACOG in place either way.

I put the ACOG (without BUIS) in the rear-most position where the mount didn't overhang the charging handle. For me it was PERFECT for eye relief! Gonna just mount a BUIS in front of the ACOG.

If it works for you = )

Actually makes sense. If the optic fails, you remove it and can still shoot, being forward a little bit just isn't going make much of a difference. Wish I'd of thought of that.

Going Canadian C7/C8-style? They have the Elcan C79/M134 mount purpose-cut so it'll nest in behind a fixed BUIS at extreme front of the receiver as "standard." (Our C8 is rather different based on a Canadian friend's private-purchase setup for his tour in the Rockpile.)

Man, just put your buis in front of the cog. You will gain function, and still have your back ups.

Ive done this with my Offset BUIS. Magpul ones are a bit cheaper than KAC's.

The TA31 I have takes up a lot less real estate than an Elcan. Even with the BUIS in front of the scope it will not be at the front of the receiver.
