After seeing what some other people were doing with their Mk12 Mod 1 type SPRs, I decided to convert my Mod 0 type over. I actually really liked the Mod O and still do but this was really an excuse to have my Noveske SPR barrel properly contoured and FINALLY, after over two years of trying, getting the proper Ops Inc. muzzle brake and collar.

The other big switch was from a Colt forged upper to a LaRue Stealth billet upper. I only had the opportunity to shoot at steel targets the other day, so I can't say yet that this new set up is more (or less) accurate. I do have my paper targets from the Mod O so some day I'll be able to compare a little more definitively. We were easily hitting man sized steel at just a hair over 250yds with 62gr M855 and 77gr Mk 262.

The component list:

-KAC SR-15 lower w/KAC 2 stage trigger
-LT Stealth upper
-KAC hard chromed bolt and carrier
-Magpul MIAD and triggerguard
-KAC 600m BUIS
-KAC folding front sight
-Noveske 18" SPR barrel: 1/7, SS, poly, 5.56 match chamber
-LT gas block
-Ops Inc. brake and collar
-KAC rifle length FF RAS
-Rock SOPMOD Raptor bipod
-NF 2.5-10x24 (NV capable) with NPR2 reticle
-LT SPR mount with J-Point
-SF M962 in LT mount

Thanks to Steve at ADCO for the barrel contour work and Ops set. Excellent machine work, great price and fast turnaround.

The LT Stealth uppers are the heat. Kind of thing you pass around the gunshop and everyone goes "oooooooooo...nice"

Yes, after spending a trillion dollars on this thing, I know the barrel is shiny, especially where the PRI GB used to be. Yes, I should have spent another $40 bucks to have it KG coated. No, I don't know why I didn't. I'm not sneaking up on anybody anytime soon, so I'll live with it.

Absolutely amazing.

Cohiba owns some of the sweetest guns you can find.

I always look forward to his picture threads.

Very nice my friend. What kind of BCG is that? Young? Did you notice a tight fit with it and the Stealth upper?

Thanks Grant. It is actually a KAC BCG from my KAC SR-15 M4 (the whole lower as well). They come hard chromed and are very nicely made. I have read that the Young fits VERY snuggly in the LT but seems to work well.

And Dinger, thank you and hopefully the Colt Gods will smile upon us some day. It has been pushed back yet again.

Very, very nice.

Yeah, those LaRue Stealth billet upper are impressive. If my wife saw the way I was stroking the finely-honed surfaces, she might be jealous...
