Really? Somehow the world's militaries must have missed this one:

"Utilizing visionary RF85 nano-technology, the Anderson Rifle is the first—and only—rifle in the world that requires zero lubrication. Which means it never, ever needs oil. Cleans easily with just soap and water. And, most importantly, runs cleaner, faster, longer. Its proprietary RF85 process permanently injects calcium into the molecular fabric of the metal— reducing friction by an astounding 85% while forming a lasting protective barrier that eliminates the need for any lubrication."

Can a run of the mill Anderson stay running long enough for lack of lube to even be an issue?

;)

Good old "Nano" red flag. Worse than LWRCI's bullshit.

I don't know, but they seem to have jumped on the "Retro" bandwagon (if these are now considered "Retro"):

I remember froglube and all the others so I'm sure it will work out for them...:p

They’ve been advertising this for a few years, I think. Politely, I’m skeptical.

There is a good ‘I screwed your mom’ joke in here somewhere…

Just throw in a cryptic coatings bcg. Not saing its lube free but it will run a long time.

Also I screwed your mom!

I thought it was something Anderson concocted, but not the case.

No idea if it legit works on an AR or anything else.

Interesting. The websites had similar looks, so I half expected them to be in the same business park, but that didn’t turn out to be true.

I heard this bullshit before, I guess if it just hangs out in the closet/safe no lube required.

If this process was so revolutionary you'd think that every gunmaker would be using it.

Most people's gun probably don't need lube. I wonder what the distribution of shots fired is like for most guns? I'm going to say 33 shots. Two mags full shot and then people leaving enough rounds from the box of 50 for one magazine- and there it sits...

Morons, I just put my bolt carrier on a lathe and reduced the diameter by 3%. It now requires absolutely zero lubrication without the nano technology nonsense. It also runs a LOT faster now.

That would be my custom fluted bolt carrier. It's my tactical "desert" carbine because the flutes act as sand cuts. So if ever I'm in the desert, I'm totally prepared.

I've seen this movie before. It ends up with us still using lube...

What if it costs $3000? Doesn’t that make it cool?

Special anodized BLUE edition coming soon, only $2,800. Super lightweight anodized titanium BCG with sand cuts / fluting are the most advanced BCG on the market. For engraved, enamel fill punisher skull, add $500.

I fluted mine with a Dremel. Runs like a raped ape.

I've asked my neighbor, who is in the legit nano technology business, about the base tech from the website (not the Anderson website but the tech website). He is also a shooter so I am sure he'll talk about the firearms aspect but I expect he'll have something to say about the basic idea behind it.

Somewhat off topic, but their stuff is getting a little pricey. $700 for a generic ass upper?

You can get something similar from PSA for $320+ a standard charging handle and BCG would run you another $100.
