Primary Arms released an Expo Arms branded Wedge lock that’s full m-lok, no qd sockets or no lightening cuts. The description says it’s 7075-T6 too. They only have a 10.75” length at the moment.

The also released a CMT manufactured picatinny rail in a couple lengths.

That wedgelock rail is pretty good. I like their version of it. I wonder if Zev produces for him.

I would bet Zev does produce that handguard, as they sell Expo Arms branded forged receivers made by Mega Arms aka Zev.

I wonder if it is actually 7075.

If advertised as such idk why it wouldn’t be. Mega/zev do make 7075 rails

I think they are just wondering because it's a big weight penalty over 6061.

I've got a Zev/Mega Wedgelock on my AR10 and it's outstanding. Exact same profile as this HG, down to the added reinforcement bumps at 3/9 o'clock over the barrel nut.

first time seeing this and i like a lot for the fact that the MLOK slots are offset from the ones above and below (like the URX4, DDMLOK rail). It won't really mean a great deal but generally i think that makes the rail stronger than ones with MLOK stack on top of each other.

I think they are just wondering because it's a big weight penalty over 6061.Big weight penalty? Seems a bit of a stretch, given that their densities aren't hugely different, 0.072 oz per cubic inch difference.

I do think it's interesting that it comes in a fair bit cheaper than Zev's own WedgeLocks, which are 6061 for the AR-15 version, as is the TRIARC TRILOKs.

That particular PA/Expo MLOK version is worth every penny.

It would be nice if they came out with a version of the S lock and guard.

The additional weight of 7075-T6 12+ inches away from the barrel nut is an obvious increase in weight to the user. Can be as much as 6oz. That's the same as hanging another white light, mount, and batteries off the front.

I'm not opposed to it. I just understand why most companies elect to use 6061. That's all.

Obviously, the titanium barrel is going to be a bit lighter than a steel one, but not to the extremes that you seem to be implying.

Hell, a 1.5" 7075 foot long round is ~25.701 lb. A 1.5" 6061 foot long round is ~24.94 lb. That's a ~12 oz difference for a totally solid rod. Using some basic maths, the 14 5/8" Zev is 11.9 oz without the barrel nut (according to Molon's weighing), and would be ~12.3 oz in 7075 (~15.9 oz with the barrel nut).

The Expo Arms version's extra weight compared to a Zev would probably be mostly from the the fact that it has M-LOK on all 7 flats compared to the Zev's scalloping of 4 of the flats, rather than the material change, I'd wager.

Then go buy the heavy rail.

They now have a 13” and 15” versions. And the specifications are now saying 6061 material.

Nevermind. They should remove material resting in a lighter rail since its stronger, assuming the 6061 is strong enough for NV laser use.
