...and I can say, I really need to go more. It's really a kick-ass time.

I'm on vacation for like 10 days, first significant time off I've had in a few years. Was finally able to get out to the range to do a few things:

Shoot my M4gery to get some more break-in and tighten it up.
Shoot my SKS and tighten that up.
See what I can do with match ammo out of a scoped 16" AR
Blow the dust off my EDC.

New rule(s) #9 made me lol.....nice

We have lots of cactus...particularly Saguaro

Getting setup, shot the SKS first to tighten it up...it was about 4" left. The sight adjustment is crude AF..A C-clamp to push the front sight left or right. The sights also suck. I was able to get a centered group about 3moa @ 50yrds...not great, but good enough for a 7.62X39

Off to the other rifles.

The M4gery shot 100% reliable. Shoots about 4moa @ 100yd. Dialed in the irons and then the PRO. Put 6ish full mags through it..not a single malfunction.(Newish build) Shooting off-hand was minute of man with no issue.

My scoped AR with a $200 budget scope did very well. Best it's done. 2-stage with 16" DD CL, Less than 2MOA at 100yd..not bad for CL barrel, IMO.

Looks like Casa Grande's range. I get the auto rule I guess. I'd assume that an auto owner would be able to control his gun, but mongos manage to get MGs too I suppose.

Full auto is usually a boogie man they don't see, but are sure it is there causing problems.

Local range had to shut down and move due to poor planning decades earlier, but machine guns were blamed. Over 100 .40 and .45 projectiles were found on an adjoining business soon after a couple LE agencies(.40 S&W and .45 ACP) did their qualifying at the range and were shooting targets on the ground instead of using the inadequate berm.

Was at a USFS range and the ranger told be the chewed up target posts were from people shooting machine guns while ignoring the pile of cheap 12 gauge empties piled nearby and all the 7-1/2 & 8 shot embedded in the stubs.

I was thinking Ben Avery.

Pretty sure that's Ben Avery. I've seen machine guns there many times. Just need to check with the staff and they'll set it up on the table next to the little command post.

There is a prison on the other side of that mountain. They probably don't want people slinging lead over the top shpulder firing a full auto.

OutofBatt3ry... if you are up in the north or west valley and want to head out to Cowtown sometime for some longer range steel fun, shoot me a message.

Lots of local AZ folks here. =)

Yes, it's BA. I live like 10 minutes away. I started using PRGC when BA went to reservation only. BA started doing first-come-first-served on weekdays, so it was perfect for my week off. I've made the trek out to Rio Salado a few times. Rio Salado has a great main range but the fact you can't carry while shooting was always weird to me. They make you unload your sidearm before entering the range. Had me scratching my head.

I've never been to Cowtown. Isn't that a private range?

Yep. I'm a member. It's over by Lake Pleasant.

No human has ever shot every piece of steel out there. ;)
