Talking with a co-worker and he was showing me reviews and videos on the gun he was ordering. I was expecting to find some bad info on it, but the reviewers I have seen seem impressed with it. Made by Stealth Arms and takes Glock mags.

Because you don’t think it is worth $1400 or you don’t have $1400?

Not being an ass, just wondering why $1400 is a deal breaker in the 1911 world?

I sent an email to Stealth Arms asking about a G19 or G48 version. They responded:

"As the people want, Stealth Arms does"

I have configured several different options on the website, just have analysis paralysis on what I would want right now. Good to know they may do a G19 version. Might sit on this one for awhile and see what they do about the G19.

If it's well made with billet components and runs, what's not to like? $1,400 is a reasonable price for a very nice 1911, and this might be a very nice 1911. Not being able to see one in person before ordering takes more faith than a lot of 1911 fans have. There are very few options for reliable double stack 1911s, and up until 30 minutes ago, the $2,000 plus Stacattos is the only one I'd consider.

The FAQ section states, "We currently offer 9mm. We are working on .45 ACP, 10mm, .357 Sig and .40 S&W".

I'm not yet convinced that 9mm equals .45 Auto, so if they were to offer a 13 round .45 Auto Platypus I would be very tempted to try one out.

Never heard of them, generally speaking $1400 single stack 1911’s can be iffy. I doubt this company magically has the engineering and R&D chops to produce a double stack 2011 style gun that runs 100% for that kind of coin. Springfield Armory can’t seem to do it for that money, I don’t see this outfit doing it either.

Reminds me of Salient Arms.

Got to wonder if they are using a plastic mag catch. If not how does Stealth Arms prevent damage to the plastic G17 mags?

Send it...

Looks interesting. Good to see companies thinking outside the box.

While a huge Phineas and Ferb fan, I prefer to separate my cartoon choices from my firearms choices. Frankly the whole idea of a Perry model Platypus pistol is just a bit weird and a turn off for me.

HOWEVER.... if they can produce me a Commander sized 1911 that ran well with my PILE of G17 mags.. $1400 is a small price to pay. But.. that's two more G19's that I shoot well, so I'm not sure if I'd jump.
