I ran into this kinda retro Colt with Property of US Govt, M4A1, CAL 556 markings. Has the KAC rail, or I assume its KAC

What you think about this Colt and its price. I wish it was a plain 16 inch so I could run with a can. I need this gun like a fish needs a bicycle but......

I thought it was the FN gun that I have wanted for some unknown reason.

Made me start to wonder, could I take one of my old AAC cans and make an adapter that would work on this pin and welded gun. I know its a long shot but maybe somebody some day?

Just checked GB, nothing special, decent gun I suppose.

Looks like a new 6920 SOCOM as it has the CR serial number prefix. They shoot great and the price is okay, soemtikes you can find it for about a benji less

Yep, definitely new production Colt SOCOM. The price is actually not bad. You MIGHT be able to replace the flash hider with something of your choosing, if you can find a gun smith willing to do the work for you. John Thomas at Retro Arms comes to mind. I kick myself for not buying one of these rifles when Arms Unlimited had them in stock.

I roughly have two of these already (basic set up without the cool Colt markings), and still am salivating at the thought of this one. Depending on how psycho colt permed the FH, I can get it off. Colt has gone overboard on making life hell in the past though... ramped carriers, receiver blocks, etc.

I've cut off pin and welded muzzle devices with a dremel. When you are getting close, I use a cold chisel (or good large flat head screwdriver) and twist to pop it apart. All you need to do after that is swipe one of Marks can adapters and tack weld it in place!

I did same with my 14.5” SOCOM. Not difficult.
Was pleasantly surprised at the precision/accuracy it exhibited with decent ammo. I run a Kahles 1-6X on it.

18 Tooth mount!!!

That settles it!! GO GET THE GUN, PB!!! We can shoot it tomorrow!!

I think that's about retail. If that was staring in the face at the LGS, it'd be on lay-away before I was done fondling it.

This gun is a mile from my house. It's ridiculously un-needed, but I want it bad.

If that was listed on the EE, it would probably be listed by a certain someone for like $4,500.00

Honestly dude, I think that’s a good price on that Colt, it’s on par with retail. No BS “Colt collector” markup.

Totally reasonable price. I just have had my ass handed to me on bills/expenses recently. Dog repair, Truck repair, Appliances, etc..

It’s a good deal to a cloner, it’s okay to everyone else.

If I'm not mistaken it's technically the Colt 6920 "2013" model (not sure why it's marked "2013" on the box, but whatever). I bought one from G&R back in the summer of 2018 for the same price this one is marked at. It is still unfired, left as-is. The box label is where it says "2013", unless this is a new production weapon that has a different nomenclature.

I don't have a can so I left the muzzle device alone. I figured it was the closest to an actual Colt M4A1 that a civvie can own, and the markings kinda-sorta make my dick hard! :haha:  I have left it alone because someday it *might* be worth a good deal more, but evidently it hasn't gotten there yet since it's the same price I paid damn near 5 years ago.

Bottom line? Get it!

Not sure if it's still there, but I'd be in CC debt to get it, and I don't want that.

Rock on! I despise CC debt, it's always paid off next paycheck anyway.

Got the word from PB that this baby was gone from the store when he looked a few days back. Hopefully it has a good home!
