The dream of every young man, is now legit. Might look like CGI, but it's not. I have been aware of the development of this for a while we have have vid of early testing of similar gear at the The National Navy UDT SEAL Museum. In the not too distant future, will a SEAL team utilize that tech for ship take downs, oil rigs, etc? I'm gonna need to add those in some future thriller story!

Yea...Gravity Industries has been testing this for a bit. There was a demo of this at the 2022 International Manufacturing and Technology Show. Pretty cool. It's not very noise stealthy though, so unless they fix that aspect, your not sneaking up on anybody.

Would hate to be stuck in that thing and become the target in a duck shoot. Maybe add a mini Apache style helmet gun targeting system to it for offensive capability. Extra weight though.

*EDIT - you beat me to the quite aspect with your second post

Lots of things to be worked out, but something like a sub quietly comes to the surface a few hundred yards off oil rig, middle of the night using NVGs, and they can target people as they approach - via the stealth drones that were on station an hour ago sending them real time targeting info - and landing within seconds all over your location before you even know what the hell is happening. Various ways they'd have speed and violence of action their side. Fast rope helo insertion is not exactly quiet either, but is used under the right circumstances.

I'm not smart enough to even be a subject matter amature, but wouldn't these guys be sitting ducks the whole time they are flying, up until they land, pull their arms out of whatever you call the engines, and deploy a weapon?

Also, what happens if they get hit in an arm? How easy is it to jettison if they end up swimming? I can see great potential, especially for SAR applications, but not sure I would want to use one to enter a hot landing zone.

Definately meets the chicks dig it factor though.,

Well it isn't a flying car, but I'll take it.

Been promised this stuff since before I was born.
