North Face a few years ago refused to do some corporate logo gear for a oil field services unit, I think they had some offices in DEnver. Global warming and all. NF kind of had to eat it when the company pointed out there all the North Face gear is based on oil/gas based polymers...

I assume Carhart doesn't have tuckable overalls yet?

North Face has always been on the woketard train.
But it's 2023 so we gotta stoop to hiding behind kids to spread the message now, I guess....

In case the last month hasn't been informative enough, ALL major companies are infected with the ESG disease. Not just a few. ALL.
None of them are going to "repent" either, no matter how hard they get boycotted - they will simply do what the entertainment industry is currently learning; push the BS till they hit a hard enough wall, then repackage it into more "acceptable" content, and thus the agenda always moves forward.

Given how fast some of these other companies have put out these sort of ads one after another recently, methinks also that someone on high is yanking the "compliance and solidarity" chain after Bud got thrashed. Trying to make a point - "we're all on the same page and you're not going to stop this from being spread".

They get a CEI (corporate equality index) score. The HRC (Human Rights Campaign) determines their corporate CEI score. If they don't "meet demands", their score gets penalized by the HRC who lobbies millions into Congress to get forward the woke agenda . HRC is funded by the Open Society Foundation. The Open Society Foundation is funded by George Soros. Follow the money...then it makes sense.

Every time I see them use kids for these advertisements I wonder?
Are the Parents promoting grooming? Who wants to cut my Daughters Breasts off or butt rape my Son?

I just don't understand it, what are they thinking?

North Face started in San Francisco in the '60s and now are in Denver, they were gay before gay was cool.

History these woke jackasses are not aware of history.

Germany was the nation that was at the forefront of this trash.

It should be noted that the first books burned by the Nazis were the text books in school pushing this trash.

The woke elite are going to give birth to a fascists USA.

I'm also going to suspect that the Muslims will help the christians.

If we (royal 'we') want to be intellectually honest, how far do we go with outrage? Boycott Volkswagen and Adidas because of the founders' inclusion in the Nazi Party?

I know everyone has their own, personal line in the sand. I also know that because it's 'sand', it also shifts over time.

I carry a sort of Glock pistols, Gaston Glock backed a Nazi for public office.

I have owned multiple Porsche's in my life and BMWs. Oh also Ducati can let the Italians off my list.

But the point I was trying to make and obviously poorly, was that the woke idiots have gone a bridge too far. The issue that set Germany on the path to Hitler was the wide public support of homosexuals and the trans movement. The first books burned by the brown shirts were text books from schools that pushed these life styles to children.

What has got American parents pissed off in recent years the same thing, the woke schools going that bridge too far.

I have had 6 cups of coffee and a meeting with my accountant, so I hope I am communicating better this time around.

I wasn't aiming anything at you, and I apologize if it came off that way. You do speak to where I was going: you are aware of the historical ties of the products/services you choose to use, and choose to use them anyway. I think most of us are this way; I think most of us have a hard line with some products/services, but not all. That's OK. Hypocritical? Meh, maybe. Human nature? Sure.

I think 'a bridge too far' is a good way to put it. Like what SCOTUS Justice Potter Stewart said about pornography, paraphrasing, "I can't define it but I know it when I see it."

At almost 55 with cancer I am not nearly as hard on outdoor stuff as I used to be, but I don't know that I would NOT buy TNF or Patagonia or Arc'teryx because of their social pandering or, in the case of Arc'teryx, making something in a sweat shop in Bangladesh for pennies on the dollar if it is what I need.

I didn't think you were aiming at me, I thought I didn't do a good job of word smithing.

The problem with trying to boycott woke companies or even the damn Chicoms, is due to Globalization it is all wove together. But that will be coming to an end.

Addressing a post higher up, I wonder who will be the target in a Christian and Muslim we are the world crusade or jihad?

A simple look at what A/B owns while boycotting Bud makes that very clear.

I want to know which "outdoor" brands are not going along with this shit, because it's getting really hard to find any and I am sure they could use some support.

I dont buy that crap because its overpriced crap so its a boycott if you think really hard about it.

What I hate is "outdors men companies" overcharging because "bushcraft", like dude your haversack is not worth 200 ****ing dollhairs.

I definitely have my price point for sure. Plus, I don't do any high altitude/expedition type stuff anymore, so I am not going to pay that $ for those things to wear on the local 5-mile trail at the state park. I will pay that kind of money if I was going to use it hard.

But it doesn't mean it is not good gear. If it (whatever the "it" is) offends you, don't buy it. Everyone has to draw their own line.

Patagonia and Arc'teryx both have/have had military lines. Arc'teryx has their LEAF line and Patagonia used to produce some of the PCU stuff (MARS). Search 'Patagonia L9' and you'll see some more current stuff. I'm sure the majority of their customers aren't aware of them.

Lost Arrow stuff pops up on ebay here and there. They had some interesting pieces and options.

I have not had the Patagonia gear, though I am aware of it. Even though I am out now I still have a decent amount of Arc'teryx LEAF apparel. Some of it is Canadian-made, some of it was made in Bangladesh. But all of it has held up well.

From what I've seen, KUHL, Mountain Khaki, and Fjallraven are fairly safe.

It’s all scale. If you’re trying to make a living, you have to either price high or sell high volume.

Yes, this is true. The North Face is still has their elite line of gear for serious outdoorsman, but they don't make a ton of money on it because that is a small fraction of their clientele.

Arc'teryx is the same way.
