It is a simple and effective unit. It is as good now as it ever was. I prefer the KAC, but Matech is a good alternate.

Yes, it’s still in use in the military. It’s a good piece of kit, especially if you’re running a red dot or ACOG. I too prefer the KAC micro rear sight due to its’ smaller dimensions, which make it easier to run with a magnified optic.
