This appears to be a closer match than the Garand Thumb/Ron Jeremy bad guy.

Dang, it's like he posed for it.

He had to resort to a life of crime after his first and only modeling job in the late 80's.

Here is the history of that target. It was developed by the NYPD in 1960: https://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/17/nyregion/cops-favorite-target-thug-but-just-who-was-the-guy.html

Actually not a bad target. I like that the scoring lines disappear so folks aren't concentrating on those verses getting the sight on the upper chest and letting them go. If you really like to f with folks, run a t-shirt over an IPSC/IDPA target.

Had to do some reloading and jiggling the scroll, but it was an NYPD created 1960s target that was frequently believed to be Ernest Borgnine(I kinda see), a pro boxer (whose name escapes me, one or more NYPD officers, and lots of people thought it looked like someone they had seen.

Finally, it was revealed the NYPD Lt. who talked to the artist for the drawing asked for it to not look like anyone, at least till now. Lol

I can think of a lot of gamer shooters who would come unspooled.

Doesn't take even that much, just put the target up with the printing to the back and watch the meltdowns ensue. *snickering evilly*

I used to make practice targets with brown grocery bags and "lifers" would always ask me how I knew where the A zone was.

I put shirts on targets pretty regularly. Good to shoot them and THEN look and see where you're hitting.

Tell 'em things like "if you're REALLY any good you'll always know, because When It Really Counts the Two-Way Range targets DON'T have score markers" and "wow, it must suck to suck"? LOL

They might be heavy, expensive and dated...but the one thing I always loved about pepper poppers is they teach you to keep shooting the target until it goes down.

Dude, I carry a weapon designed before my GRANDFATHER was born, and the Army still uses a heavy machinegun dating to about the same time. "Old" is not synonymous with "Obsolete;" there's a reason the B-52 hangs on while aircraft mean to replace it go to the scrapyards or their unbuilt designs into trashcans. Old isn't a BAD thing if it still works, just means "has stood the test of time." :) Now if you try to step to an F-16 with a stick-and-fabric Fokker Dreidecker rocking a pair of vintage 7.92 Spandaus, otoh... then you're in whacked-out territory best left to a Clive Cussler novel, and not the good ones when he found his stride and style.
