I have an M4a1 clone (e.g. Colt LE6920 Socom) that I picked up to turn into a "mostly" Block 1 clone...

all good on the western front adding a Sopmod gen 1 stock, a UID sticker to make me a super operator, but of course there's a downside. the m4a1/6920 Socom doesn't come with the sling point below the front sight post. it's colt's side sling mount and it's facing out from the left side of the fsb, meaning it's setup for righty's and I'm one of the special lefties.

question is... is there any way to setup a sling for left handed user that way, or am I cursed to buying an add on QD point or something to attach to the right side of the KAC rail and go that route?

See what these do for you. The first video will drive you crazy. FF to a bit past the 6 minute mark.

If yours is similar, do whatever to remove pins, rotate, replace with new pins.

Or use some 550 cord if wanting to maintain a side sling mount.

Yeah, just drive the pins out and flip it to the other side.

Edit: If you mar the barrel or FSB with your punch, hit it with some cold blue.

This. Easy peasy.

yeah, after looking at the swivel it looks easy enough to knock those two pins out and flip it around. easy enough.

Just knock out one pin. The top pin. Flip and reinstall.
The side with the pins is amphibious.
If you would like to use KAC rail covers , fold the sling loop fold forward, left or right.
