Good on Aimpoint:

"Following extensive testing of a broad selection of competitive optics, Aimpoint was awarded a five-year contract with a maximum award amount of $7 million for the compact Duty RDS™ sight, and an additional $4 million award for the larger format CompM4s sight. Deliveries of both sights to the FBI began at the end of 2023."

I had not paid much attention to the Duty but I just read that it sits .41in higher than the Micros but has the same footprint. Hmmmm.... that would mean my Larue LT660 mount sitting in the part box (using a Unity now) would put the centerline of the Duty over 2in. Do I have that right?

Check this link out. He didn’t try the Larue mount, but comparing it to the mounts on the link should give you an idea.

Thanks. It confirmed what I had read about the Duty being taller.

Thanks. It confirmed what I had read about the Duty being taller.

I have a Duty RDS on an ADM CASV mount and it sits at a lower 1/3 with Magpul Pro backup sights.
It is a good, solid optic. And yes, it is a bit taller than a T1/T2 optic and same footprint.

Think I'll stick with my Eotech XPS2.

A very solid optic at a great price.

I'll probably experiment with one on a shotgun. My fave shotgun optic for a long time was an old H-1 snagged off the used market. But that's pretty much gone.

I have a T-1 on my 1301, been considering going the other direction with an ACRO on Reptilia mount.

I have an ACRO on an old Benelli M2 that I use as a testbed shotgun. It works well.

A very solid optic at a great price.

Sounds like an updated optic geared to the same end user as the AP PRO, which is not a bad thing.
