View Full Version : "Hyena Road" (Canadians in Afghanistan)
Never heard of this movie before but came across it while browsing Youtube. Not a bad flick ,and showcased various Canadian small arms. Question for those knowlegable; what are the black and white rectangular patches on the soldier's left shoulders?
"Can you shoot?"
"**** no - I'm Intel!"

And is this an actual suppressor or a studio prop?

They should be IR patches. Don't remember the suppressor they used then. Good movie though.

Can't comment on the patches, but good attention to detail on the C7A2's and C8A3's--right down to the weird folding dick-grip.
For anyone wanting to check it out. Not a bad flick although the plot seems a bit disjointed in places. Evidently it was widely released in Canada but flopped at the box office.:

And Tim Horton references…
I thought it was pretty good, but the guys at FNG Academy YouTube channel didn’t like. IIRC, they hated it…

Yeah, I watched that reaction video. They thought the whole movie was ridiculous.

I watched it a couple of years ago, and it seemed OK. They had to throw in a love story and sacrifice in there at the end but overall, not bad. I just saw it listed on Prime the other day so I will probably watch it again.
Im guessing the patch is an IR reflector. We wore a similar but much smaller patch on top of our helmets.
Have not seen this, might check it out. RE: FNG Academy, that dude is...weird. He's chilled out over time, but still comes across a bit odd.
At first glance, I thought everyone was wearing USMC desert camo. Looking closer, the patterns are indeed different.
