HK MR223 ( semi-auto HK416 ) rifles are now in shops here in Finland. Just looked at one in a local shop today.

It comes with a 10 round magazine and the 16" barrel is threaded for the HK M15x1 RH thread ( used on the G3, HK33 and G36 series for example ), instead of the 1/2"x28 UNEF on the HK416.

The HK416 iron sights are not provided with the weapon, but are available as an extra accessory.

Pricing so far here appears to be c. 3300 Euros / 4500 USD.

The rifles are also available in Germany and Poland, in the same configuration.

Price in Poland seems to be 2800 Euros / 3800 USD and prices in Germany seem to be c. 2549 Euros to 2749 Euros / 3556 to 3761 USD.

The location of the rear push pin is different from the HK416, due to German laws not allowing "military" components to fit directly.

Your observations are consistent with what I'm seeing here in Germany ...

MR 223 listing on the German Frankonia site. (http://www.frankonia.de/shop//_/search/mr+223+/start/0/view/product/window/1/sort/norm/isortiment/B%FCchsen/so/all/search.html)

... but the price of admission is nothing short of stratospheric. I'll pass.

it should be available in Italy soon since it has been approved for sale by the Govt.

I'll proudly stick with my DI AR :D

Good old Frankonia. Another store I used to like was Eduard Kettner G.m.b.h in Frankfurt near the Bahnhof.

Neat gun, but if they're anywhere near that $3800 - $4000 price tag, HK can kiss my white ass.

A bargain, when you see a SCAR going for $6K on GB.

I seriously cant see a 416 having a price north of the SCAR if it is sold in the USA.

I think they will be considerably less when they are made here rather than in Germ$ny. They do need to be realistic though. Hopefully they don't get stupid because of the absurd prices they are seeing on SCARS.

One thing I have noticed of the comments on the various forums is that since the rear push in is located differently from a standard AR-15, the MR223 upper will not go onto a standard AR-15 lower.

Im just wondering why this is such a big issue, people have been wanting a complete civilian HK416, not just the uppers that have been floating in the U.S. market and now that one is available, it should be capable of being mounted to a another AR-15 lower..

The SCAR isnt going to be worth $2600 either. Especially since dealers will gouge on the price and probably inflate it upwards of $3000 upon release.

The ACR is going to be the ticket at about $1700.

The ACR is ready for production. Magpul and Bushmaster don't want to tool up for production until after the military trials. If the military select the ACR, and requests some mods to the weapon before production, Bushmaster doesn't want to have to retool to accomodate the changes. If the military does not select the ACR, they will go into production immediately to civilians. Our rep at Magpul told me this two weeks ago.

I would assume that the SCAR is in the same situation. But FN can keep their rediculous price tag. That price alone could end up causing the SCAR to loose the trials. Especially since the changes to the ACR can be made on the user level. The SCAR requires an armorer.

If I have time tomorrow, I might grab a 416 from work and take some comparison photos with a MR223.

That would be great Tuukka. Thanks
