That's not gun related, but then I saw this...

They haven't listed a price as of this morning, but it look like 100K minimum.

I get it…..double necks are really impractical but just super cool and awesome. Clearly they’re going after the collectors. But if Gibson were to put this in production for a decent price I’d buy one.

I passed on a Gibson 1275 signed by Jimmy years ago for $5,500. Ask me how stupid I was to pass that up.

It will go way above that...famous axes go for chingos of coin!! I follow a lot of music related stuff. Quick search:

Kurt Cobain’s 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic guitar from Nirvana’s iconic MTV Unplugged performance sold for $6 million at Julien’s Auction. This broke the record for the most expensive guitar ever sold

February 17, 2005. Jimi Hendrix's 1965 Fender Stratocaster burnt by Hendrix in March 1967 at the Finsbury Astoria sells for £100,000 at an auction in London

Alex Lifeson rocking one of his favorites, especially early on, the redoubtable Gibson ES-355. This guitar sold at auction 2 yrs ago for for $384,000.

I had a 1970 fender strat starburst I sold back in the 90's to get gun stuff...ugghh.

That's a limited edition Guitar, so even at 100K it's going to only grow in value.
Signed by Jimmy Page (if he's at the event?) the price will easily go to 500K.

I've been eyeballing a double neck for a little bit now. Nothing this expensive, but a player. I just know I'd kick myself later for dropping 5k on a guitar that hurts my bad back.

I've been thinking about a Ricky 12 string. Never had one before and think it would be interesting. Double necks seem like they would be heavy as F.

A friend of mine had a gorgeous old Martin acoustic, 1937 I think, don't recall the model. I lost touch with him then ran into him about 5 years later, in the late 80s. To my horror, he'd gotten himself twisted up on coke and pawned it for 300$. I'd have given him a k for it. I don't even want to know what it's worth today.

The SGs are light guitars in single configurations. So they're the model to double up on. They're such a romantic idea, but I can see regretting the purchase pretty quickly.

It looks like Epiphones will follow suit and make one we can justify.

The Epiphone line has been pretty good lately. I grabbed a Jared James Nichols sig model that is a great guitar for the price.

I bought a 60's a Epiphone Les Paul because I loved the neck.
I replaced everything with spec or better parts, became expensive with all of the aftermarket hardware and pick-up's.

I just went to the Gibson Web-site and you can buy the double neck plain jane for 8K, which is rather cheap in my opinion.

I can't justify that much on a guitar that I don't use to make money. I'd feel like it belonged in the hands of someone more accomplished.

The sound and look of the Gibson black and white double neck electric guitar played by Don Felder during the intro to Hotel California is distinctive and melodic. I've always associated that guitar and that song.

I wish you could rent a nice double neck for a week to see if you could hack it. And to Sam's point, then you'd have to learn Eagles and Zeplin tunes like crazy.

I bought a 60's a Epiphone Les Paul because I loved the neck.
I replaced everything with spec or better parts, became expensive with all of the aftermarket hardware and pick-up's.The interesting thing with the '60s inspired by gibson Epiphone models is that the pots, bridge, tuners, etc are all identical to what regular Gibsons get.

The difference would be the Epiphone pro bucker copies versus real Gibson humbuckers.

I traded mine for a Gibson LP studio, which I enjoy. But I'm not that convinced that the components are better. There's an interesting YouTube video where Rhett what'shisname compared an original '60s Les Paul to a current '60s custom shop Les Paul to a current 60s Epiphone.

My experience has been there's more variance in the individual guitars in each of those lines/vintages than the differences between the different models.

My Epi was set up okay, but might not have been optimal. Where my gibson studio was plecked from the factory. That can make a big difference in playability.

On the double neck, as cool as they are I believe I saw or read something that even Jimmy Page thinks the double neck SG is too heavy so accordingly it's not that much fun to play. But made sense at the time to avoid guitar swaps in the middle of songs live. Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick says the same of his multi-neck guitars.

Baxter the Casino guitar guy had some interesting comments on the new release and also said the word is that there will be releases running the full line down to Epiphone.

And I think he might have even simplified it further later on. From memory the original was on an acoustic.

Also, Rick Beato and some others have pointed out that the auto tune/pitch correction virus is hitting original recordings/videos now on YouTube and Spotify. Including Hotel California.

Point being unless you're using an old recording you are not listening to the original performance anymore, sadly.

Here ya go fellas...Alex Lifeson w/ a gibson replica. He played the double a lot & consider him one of the goats.

Who'd guess that vintage guitar/amp buyers would become as crazy as KAC fanboys.

Exactly! I still own the Uzi…..it’s my only MG and that Les Paul would probably still bring more money! Craziness!

I've seen that Felder video. Love how he described and then demonstrated his and Joe Walsh's parts in the solo.

A lot of these guitars are being purchased by Boomers as an investment.
I couldn't do that, so I will never own one. A lot of working musicans are getting a bit tired of all of the quality guitars being snatched up by collectors and investors.
To me a 50K guitar is useless unless I can play the hell out of it.

Also, I'm sure it takes 20 minutes to tune that Monster.

I don't see these as a good investment, but what do I know? Hard for me to see these commanding more than they sell for now.
