I don't think that this will really matter. While this can work against you, it would be the original intent of the founders. If we could ever get a great statesman in office, as opposed to a politician, why would we want to limit them. Term limits can limit your options. If you don't like someone vote them out. I think some sort of qualification to vote would go much farther to helping this country than term limits, there is an endless supply of corrupt idiots out there.

because the majority of the people in this country are more than willing to give up freedom for security.

Again, term limits don't fix this as there is always some other corrupt hack to fill the void. I think that qualifications in order vote would do more to help than limiting the number of terms. I say more, not fix all

We are on the cusp of socialism or worse, and the prospect of no term limits for a president that has a slick tougue and a captive audience would be a final strike to the republic, and IMO, we have run out of second chances.

ETA: what has it done to congress?.
