I'm working on building a custom AR15. At this point, I think I'm going with the DD custom build from G&R Tactical. DD M4 Upper, DD 12.0 Omega rails. I'm trying to figure out what BCG to go with though. I'd really like to get a chrome BCG, mainly for aesthetics. So far I've found Young NM and DPMS chrome BCGs. Any other suggestions or thoughts? I appreciate any help you guys can provide.

i have a young NM FA BCG for a match gun, dont know if i would run it in a fighting gun, though

LMT and BCM are the only two BCGs i use for "fightin" guns.

I run a staked Young Manuf. Chrome NM BCG in mine. No complaints here. I think Spikes Tactical makes them sometimes too.

Young doesn't stake, for one.

The carrier key must be crimped over the screws if it is to remain in place.

no shit?? my NM came staked.. the phosphate one i ordered, and then traded away, was not staked- i figured it was just a slip. why the hell dont they stake?

ETA.. hmm.. come to think, the NM came from global tactical. perhaps they staked it.

Instead of spending the extra $$$ on a chromed one buy a top quality parkerized one (IF you can find one these days) and send it to Robar for the NP3 coating. I just sent one to them I got from J&T after I staked it *better* with my MOACKS.

I don't see a reason for a bolt carrier group other than Colt unless you want one that was never cut for the forward assist.

i've seen plenty of smooth side colt BCGs- the problem with using Colt BCGs is availability- where do you get your colt BCGs? you can't just pick one up on bravocompanyusa

What exactly is NP3 coating?

Thanks for the replies, everybody. Chime in if you have any other thoughts.
