Didn't want to jack the other HK 416/417 thread (the Magpul guys gave us a sneak peek of what's new to come).

But gosh, do I feel like a dork for ordering 200 PMAGs.

Sounds like you're privy to some information the rest of us are not. Care to expound on your previous post?

Magpul showed a picture of a new "E-MAG" in the HK416/HK417 thread. It's definitely a new type of magazine -- doesn't look very much like the P-MAG at all. There is also a picture of a .22 LR AR-15 P-MAG.

Hmm. I blew up a picture of the Daniel Defense M4, and it sure looks like they have an E-mag in the rifle pictured.

Right, saw the other Magpul thread--I was just wonderign if he had extra info which made him regret his big Pmag order. :)

Im backordered for 20, if they're for 5.56/.223 I will just cancel that and wait for the new release likely.

You wont have trouble selling pmags though.

Never thought about that, but that sounds logically right! And I'm just now having my coffee! :D

Any guesses what the .308 mag is for? Armalite AR10? DPMS style .308?

Never! They want it all and your first and second born! And you'll gladly give it to them! :D

I guess it will be a DPMS/Knights pattern mag, though I guess it could be an M14 mag.

Looks like a notch for a DPMS/KAC type magazine release... Maybe a MR762???

A couple quick points to clarify before I hit the sack:

...

2. The EMAG is the "Export Magazine". Although it remains 100% compatible with AR15/M16 weapon systems, its slim profile and unique geometry are optimized for foreign-made weapon systems such as the HK 416, FN SCAR, SA-80, ARX-160, etc.

Sorry to bump this up, but this question fits here.

I (like others I suppose) have a lower which PMAGs will not drop free from. Would the EMAGs work with this lower? ie will they drop free? That was my understanding, I just want confirmation before I buy a bunch.

My PMAGS would not drop free from one of my LMT lowers (easy fix).
My EMAGS will drop free from that same LMT lower.

Will EMAGS drop free from your lower? I have no idea
You can always buy one EMAG and test it, then buy the rest.

You can lightly sand particular edges on p-mags so they'll drop free. Google it to see where, or figure it out. I've done it on a few, and I've read guys at classes have done it on a concrete curb. No biggie.

I had the same problems in my LMT lower with the older generation of Pmags. From poking around online you can find that there are a couple "nubs" on the top of the old style Pmags that cause it to get held up in the magwell. It took maybe 20 minutes of scraping with a flat head screwdriver and bam, no more getting stuck in the magwell. The new "M Revision" Pmags or whatever they are called don't have those nubs and sure enough, they drop free from my lower.

You do realize CLHC posted that 233 days ago when the EMAG was just a Shot Show rumor right?
