Just heard from a source I believe that Colt is about to suspend sales and mfg of all
civilian AR rifles. Any truth in this?
Why would they? Don't they make money on these rifles?

BS! You hear this crap all the time. The rumor is usually started by some doofy gunshop guy who wants to see you one of the 200 Kimbers he has in stock. I usually get the same story if I ask for an HK.
Seriously, in this economy I doubt any business is going to voluntarily stop selling something they are making money on.
If you'd like to name the source, with contact information via PM, I will be happy to vet the veracity of this rumor. Otherwise this will stay locked.

On another board (not arfcom) an FFL said his Colt rep told him no more civilian sales, ARs to LE & Military only. They never seemed very interested in the civi market so it may be true or it may just be one of those gunshop rumors. Maybe Grant will weight in
