I have a very good friend in the SOCOM community that did the testing and eval for the SCAR, he mentioned to me once that the standard SCAR-H was getting 8MOA at 800yrds and he seen the SSR shooting 5MOA at 1000.

more modular type free float, where you can add rails on the sections you want, instead of lugging around rails all the time. I believe it should prove to be lighter.

It could be that the equity money invested could also have holdings in Matech...:confused: I believe that it is owned by an investment fund and a principle owner. I believe that to be the facts of the new ownership.

I also find it odd that if Matech was involved, you would think that LWRCI would at least use their sights on their rifles and they don't.

A very Troy looking front sight but differ with serration on the back side and side of the front post. Serration on the back side of the post should eliminate any reflection.

Those are threads on an AK front sight post, and way below where your eye should be looking...It's been on there for 60 years.

Im pretty sure he is talking about the sight edges not just the post... Troy doesn't serrate the actual sight edges... and no I don't think they are marketing them that way I believe it was an observation on SMG's part....

Yeah, I like 'em.

I have three things mounted on my 12" rail. A front sight, a light mount, and rail covers.

Full length rails are not really utilized by most shooters...if they can cut down weight and make them friendlier to grab, I'm all for it.

That is incorrect. They are going to be compatible but I have not heard HK discuss separate uppers.

Hey people with the cases.

Since you can decide with things you want to uncover (headphone jack, mute button), does the case come with the camera opening covered as well?

I've been dying to find an iPhone case that covers the camera. I can't have a camera phone at work and even if I remove the camera from the phone, the hole in the case is still there making people think I *do* have a camera.

Poor ACR. When will you ever be ready for us? If Magpul had simply found a production partner we might all have ACRs in our safes. Magpul+Bushy became Magpul+Bushy+Remington... who is next? Maybe by the time it is ready for production it will be the MagpulBushmasterRemingtonColtSaberDPMSMegaSunDevilLMTLWRCPWS ACR.

Still, Remington has really improved the overall look of this rifle (although I fell in love with the original Magpul Masada)

I am afraid that ARMS is in decline (IMHO) they are really not innovating. They appear to be copying other manufacturers.

Magpul has the furniture business wrapped

It is time to innovate again ARMS, "innovate or die" is the war cry of any good business. That is sad since ARMS was the original innovator.

Finally figured out to make a rail 1911 in black.

I find the BUIS design to be pretty innovative in that they incorporate several exsisting ideas in one smart package. I wonder how much they will be offering the sights for sans weapon.

Moot point since someone ran over my iPhone with a truck a few weeks ago, though. I miss mobile pocket computing and 24/7 email access.

My understanding is that to get dual-sided QD cups, you buy 2 QD cups and use one bolt to hold both on.

they are only one sided, if you have to swap sides, have to unscrew the QD mount and move it on the other side. Doesnt look like you can put two mounts on the same hole.

I asked one of the Magpul crew about this for the ACS and was told you could run a cup on each side with a single screw. Never tried it, though.

I tried the Claymore today on 11.5" barrel. I had a FSC556 on before. The FSC556 made the rifle very controllable, but extremely loud.

The Claymore didn’t control the recoil & muzzle rise as well as the FSC556, but muzzle blast & sound were greatly reduced. I fired a rifle with a 16” barrel & A2 Flash suppressor along with it. Both rifles were firing XM193. The Muzzle blast & sound seemed to exactly the same from the shooter’s perspective.

Just got a response from Troy Ind. They aren't making a left-handed version of their ambi-safety. :mad:

I don't understand why the need to make an ambi bolt release, mag release and ambi charging handle, but won't make their ambi-release with the levers switched? At least make a version with both levers shortened. :confused:

For me leaving the BB was like a new playground. My apps I use alot are my free gps tracker I used to mark locations for deer trails, free local police scanner, podcasts are free a d I have shows from survival preparedness to hunting shows and even Eastman hunting video podcasts.

The BB messenger to me is a poor reason to hold onto the small browser screen when you can text the same. It's just a text option. I have not regreted leaving BB for a second.

I am thinking of putting a Claymore on a 14.5"... you felt the muzzle flash was less (or no worse,) than FSC556? IE no big fireballs out the front or anything? I live in the great state of NJ where flash suppressors are illegal (along with everything else!) and I need a brake and hopefully one that kills a little bit of the flash. I hear KAC Triple Tap is also decent but it's hard to find and expensive! I thought a Noveske Pig was the answer until I found out it was considered a flash suppressor for some reason, so this seems like it will hopefully fit the bill!

I don't understand the mechanics of that "ambi bolt release"... How would you manipulate the bottom left corner of an "L" to get it to release, and also to apply enough pressure to hold the bolt open?

Honestly, if I was going to design one for left handed use (You know... with the business I have making AR-15 parts (kidding)), I'd just extend it down, cut it off the right leg off the center part and checker it, or at least start there.

As long as it didn't obstruct your finger getting inside the Trigger Guard, I think that'd work pretty well.

Also does anyone have any experience with devices like this and the bad with a KAC Ambi-Mag release? Would you have any problem dropping a mag with that configuration?

The other thing that worries me about all of these levers, is that I've seen a broken bolt release, and I know it's from the awkward stress of the lever... that worries me.

I'm a lefty with long guns, and I can't afford an SR-15E3... So here we are.

It looks a lot like a copy of the Magpul BAD... if that is the case to lock the bolt to the rear, if you are right handed, you put your trigger finger under the lever and lift and to release you push on the end on the lever.... if you are left handed you can push on the lever at the bottom with your trigger finger and if you are releasing the bolt you just hit the top (ping pong paddle) with you trigger finger... on the BAD at least it adds surface area for you to be able to hit it with your trigger finger... this is just what works for me and my two cents worth.

I can't find one picture online of a cat tail installed on a variable power scope in a combat theatre. Perhaps someone more gifted with search foo will.

My perception is that variable power scopes are the exception, not the rule on issued firearms. Speed is important in combat - so take the shot with what you have, most of which are fixed power if at all.

If you have a variable power, like as not, you have the time. And if you have a variable power set on high in a close combat situation, your sniper rifle is the least of your problems.

I don't see cat tails as field equipment ( literally, where are they? ) but as range competition enhancements.

NSN on any cat tails issued would be good evidence.

old thread, but I thought I would chime in... I think the new "Colt Tactical" set ups are questionable. I think Colt would make a killing if they offered a 6920 with a Knights RAS and LMT Sopmod... so many people are obsessed with copying the standard Mil issue kit, I think if Colt would offer a 16" semi auto "real" M4 with the same kit offered to the military, they would absolutely dominate the market. Just my $.02 ( I dont like the Vltor stock haha)

Considering all vestiges of "Colt Tactical" have disappeared from the internet since SHOT 2010 (Web Page placeholder, Facebook fan page, etc...) I think we can safely place this construct securely in the "vaporware" category.

I just got all three today in the mail. When I was in London, back in July, I met up with some flashlight collectors. One in particular was a die hard surefire collector like me. After talking he mentioned that he will be getting his hands on a few Magpul iPhone cases.

Well my mate in London said that if I wanted one I could have one. So kachow, I finally got one. and not only did he send me one, he sent all three colors to me for free!!! Oh and it fits my 2G iphone beautifully. my iphone is now tacticool.

It's not that Magpul can't make plastic stuff on their own, but I remember waiting and searching high and low to find a Magpul iPhone 3 case after SHOT 2010. Would have been cool.

Edit: This list was distributed by Magpul and is probably the source of other sites claiming "Summer '10"

That is in the same font and style as the form I got at SHOT from Magpul [which I have here in front of me now] that lists that exact same information so I could believe, if someone pressed the issue, that that was a copy of a Magpul cheatsheet or something that the booth personnel might have had.

Of course, the form that I got also says:

"Release times fore[sic] new items are estimates. Please contact us as times approach for more specific release dates."

So nothing is definite and were just guesses in the first place.

the magpul pts already made rail sling attachment. It's pretty good too only $15 bucks. it made out of heavy metal or steel.
i am waiting for tan ms3 sling and Tan RSA.

update. I just checked magpul.com the RSA will come out soon and the MS3 no where to be found but still see the old ms2 sling in the product section :( MS2 : summer 10.... What is going on ? i guess they need to hire more people to produce them.XD
