Ok here are the comparison pics of my KO cases. what a drastic difference. Only thing I cant compare is OD green. I have OD green KO and a foliage green original.

I think the pictures will speak for themselves. However I will add my observations. clearly the color is off. The shape of the case is totally different. The Magpul logo is much larger on the original. As I said before, the MAGPUL word is raised on my KO where instead it is a negative cavity on the real one

The bottom is pretty different as well. as we have heard from reviews, the field case has the cutouts left intact, for those who want to keep their iphone covered from the elements. notice the two holes for the mic and speaker.

The side volume buttons and mute slider hole is drastically different.

On the inside of the case, there is storage for the sim card removal tool. not so with the KO.

It is hard to discern from the pictures but perhaps this one will help show you the material differences. The real case is rigid with a hint of flexibility to get the phone inside the case. The KO case is like any cheap rubber iphone case. it can fold in half.

I love the quality of the Magpul field case. However I do like the KO only because it fits my 2G phone better. That is the only thing I like about it. It is too soft and the rubber is too tacky so it pulls my pocket out when i take the phone out.

Not that I am aware of.

Good news, my fiancee got a new iphone 4 today. I tried my Magpul case and it fits pretty well in the field case. However the camera hole doesnt line up and covers up the flash/light next to the lens.

I have been running a Otterbox case on a 3Gs, but have not been enormously pleased with the belt clip. I'd like to just go back to pocket carry with the Magpul goodness.

FYI Magpul has a new 3G case in the work - I got one from NickB last week, and its way way better than the one I got at SHOT in Jan.

They also have a IPhone 4 case from what I saw from Nick

Not in full production but should be soon.

I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get an iPhone one day. My Blackberry, as much as I love it, just can't afford me the applications and I can't find amazing cases for it.

I will check with Nick next week at the Sniper Comp, but I don't think any have been released other than few to Industry folks, as there where two different versions one Drake had and the one Nick gave to me, I think they where prototype samples.

I'm using one of last year's SHOT examples, and for a pre-production case, it is really a terrific piece of kit.

Would love to see production variants for both the 3GS and 4, as these make a great phone even better.

Troy battle sights are the gold standard of folding BUIS's.

Now on to new business - I just noticed the Troy site had the ambi mag release listed as available now. I just took my first training class and realized how badly I need an ambi mag release, being a lefty and all. Now I just need to decide if I want the KAC or the Troy version, since they're the same price.

Is the material on the new cases better than the old ones? I had an original from SHOT and it tore up the back of my phone. Cost me a good bit on the resale when I upgraded to the iPhone 4....

That was not the material of the case. That was the sand/dirt/crap that worked its way between the case and the phone and acted as an abrasive. The case had a loose fit (which is one reason I liked it actually) but that allowed stuff to sneak in there.

Yeah, sorry..I mis-spoke. It let grit in and totally "sanded" the back of the phone. At that amount of wear I should have just gone caseless.

EDIT: Also, over time the material got looser and looser.

For me a case is to keep it from breaking if I drop it or otherwise it sustains an impact. While the scratches on the back sucked, I did not care much and I still got the same amount from Gazelle as I would have claimed anyway ;)

But agreed, it would be nice to not let in the grit or to be more mindful of it...

I suppose you could leave the cutouts in place. that way everytime you recharge, you have to remove the case to access the recharge port. Then you can clean out the case at the same time

LOL that was harsh! I was born in 84 and so I didnt really know what this gun was back then, but since becoming a gun enthusiast Ive read much about the fascinating history behind this gun and the 10mm auto cartridge in general.

I remember begging my dad to buy me a Bren Ten for a H.S. graduation present in 1984. The dog wouldn’t do it. Thought I was going to another crack at it when Peregrine was going to come out with their Falcon, but it was not to be. I’d be all over the Fortis if Vltor ever puts it out. I need another 10mm, okay I may not need one, but I want one. All said and done it is my favorite pistol caliber.

No offense intended to the original Bren Ten, as it was an innovator. However, Bud's Gun Shop lists the EAA Witness 10mm as in-stock for $422. To me, that's like having all of the functionality with none of the Jan Hammer synthpop. Of course, no offense intended to Jan Hammer, either.
