As you can see, I have another thread running where we are discussing my trouble with red loctite and its removal. I am trying to avoid that on this next setup.

I just got a Larue Aimpoint T1 tall mount and I am about to install it.

Larue has supplied me with blue loctite. If for some reason, I ever feel like taking the optic off the mount, will I able to remove the screws if they have been blue loctited?

Thanks,

Blue loctite is strictly a muscle thing, not a heat thing like the red.

I've never had ANY difficulty removing anything that I blue locktite'd.

You should be GTG!

+1 for blue on Larue mounts. I've had no problems. Just make sure you work with fresh allen wrenches when you break the screws loose.

+2 on teh blue loctite.

Although I disagree with RobS on the muscle vs heat thing. I've found that even removal of blue is helped with heat. Although it isnt necessary like it is with red.

If convenient I'll still wack something assembled with blue with a bit of heat. Especially if it is a screw head or something more likely to strip.
