Wasn't expecting much, quite honestly, but I came away favorably impressed. That is one well-executed Colt, and the new furniture looks right at home. Nice work on the photos, too! I suspect more 6920s will end up in similar configurations after the community sees your carbine. Nice!

GG&G. It's not quite an absolute co-witness, but it's much closer to an absolute co-witness than it is to a lower 1/3 cowitness.

Nice rifle. Mine is on its way to that configuration. Except I'll get a CTR stock.
Good Looking gun!

I'm more than a little surprised that this hasn't been involved in some kind of patent dispute -- that's a dead-ringer for the Smith part, though I have no idea which came first, and to be fair about this, neither Smith nor Y/M really developed the thing to start with.

Cool! How do you like the extra UBR weight in the back? I have a full MOE setup (stock, grip, handguard) and it feels pretty good, so I'm wondering how the weight shift feels.

This build uses the M4A1 "SOCOM" barrel, which is heavier under the handguards than the regular M4 barrel. This barrel combined with the UBR stock gives this weapon an extremely nice balance.

Even with the heavier SOCOM barrel and UBR stock, without optics the weapon only weighs what a standard M16A2 weighs; 7.5 pounds.

I'm not a big fan of the looks of that stock but overall that is a very nice & simple set-up.
:D
.
The MOE handguards are compatible with side sling swivels. However, the sling swivel will not lay flat against the side of the weapon due to the "flange" on the MOE handguards.

Excellent info, thanks! That's a setup I may have to consider. :)
Colt M4 handguards weigh 6.3 ounces. The Magpul MOE handguards weigh 6.2 ounces.

Mine is going to weigh even less afer I grind half of that left front ear off.

I've considered doing that. Post some pics when yours is done, if you would.

Will do but it will likely be a couple of weeks before I do it. From the look of things in your pics, I might just hog out a channel large enough to clear the base of the swivel.

Make sure to post the results on that. I'd like to see how it turns out.

I considered this exact build when the Colts recently got lower prices. Good to see what it looks like, and it looks great. Congrats on a nice build.

Very nice - and excellent pics.
What's your plan for a light?
I'd also be interested in your thoughts on that Accucam after a few hard workouts.
Nice looking rig, though I'm not a fan of the MOE hand guards. Everything else is good work in my book.

For non-free floated handguards, I usually use the GG&G rail to mount a light on the port side of the weapon. I'll probably due something similar with the MOE handguards.
My only concern with the Accucam, was the possibility of snagging the "finger loop" on the port side. By mounting the sight back a few notches, it hasn't been a problem.

Nice. With a little MacGyvering of the Magpul sling, I've gone back to using the regular sling swivel.
