I didn't see this posted and STI is too short of a term to use in this site's search engine, but it looks like STI is now making AR's for the three gun crowd. It doesn't look like they are "hard use" guns but everything STI makes is good so I don't expect these guns to be any different.

quite a few IPSC guys will prolly buy these on name recognition/blind faith alone

....well at least the IPSC guys who don't already own three or four JPE rifles.

(i'm just kidding because i know all those gamers are prolly all better shooters than me)

As a three gun rifle?

Quality is quality to me and I do not look at them differently.

Are we talking about the same STI that builds expensive semi-custom 2011s that need to be reworked by specialist gunsmiths to run right and tight?

Do you expect anything else out of a rifle?

If somebody wants/purchases one simply because it is from STI, great, rock on. But the second they bitch that it keeps choking I am gonna lose my cool.

Just sayin'

I field stripped this gun at Shot. No M4 feedramps, Non Mil-Spec BCG, Green Mtn SS barrel (too thin and will most likely warp from heat), crappy rail system, etc. The part is that it was/is supposed to cost $1,700!

I apologize for the necro-post. As I've explained in a previous post (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?p=1074430#post1074430) there's a "wee bit" of information gap over here in regards to AR-systems. Since AR:s recently became legal a lot of different brands of are popping up - including STI. Since the last post in this thread, have any of you heard/read/witnessed anything about STI's rifles?

We have dealer over here that sells them for $2650, but then the cheapest JP-15 is $3600 and the cheapest AR I've seen here so far was the Astra Stg-15 for $1560 (read my write-up here (https://www.m4carbine.net/showpost.php?p=1074385&postcount=20).)

Oh, and the STI dealer says that since the rifle, though chambered in .223R, is C.I.P.-tested it is okay to shoot 5.56 ammo such as the SS109 out of it.
