Anyone here have a name for any of thier guns?
I think it would be fun to hear some.
I know someone does. Don't lie. :D
yea, mine are: Recce, SPR, M4, Rifle, and Match Gun
"Tonight, you pukes will sleep with your rifles. You will give your rifle a girl's name..."
Gungnir (Odin's spear) = AR
Mjöllnir (Thor's Hammer) = FAL
Are you really asking for names of guns?
.
.
.
or of our rifles / firearms?
:p

I don't have names for any of my firearms. I do have a friend whose duty 870 goes by Isaac. As in Isaac Parker, the hangin judge from around here.

Ha. My bad. Yes, rifles/firearms is a more appropriate term.
Please, for the love of god, no gun names. ;)

Mjöllnir (Thor's Hammer) = FAL
I've always wanted to have a pistol built with a custom serial number of MJ0LLNIR (a zero instead of an o for the third character, because there needs to be at least one digit).
I have a Star BM named Pasqual.

I think when it gets to the point where you're naming your firearms you should probably put the weapons down for a while and seek out human companionship.
The only time it's appropriate to refer to refer to your weapons by name is if you are Clint Eastwood.

My Dan Wesson Bobtail's nickname is "Bob".
My wife named her EMP "Genny" because it was made in Geneseo, Il.
I call mine "OJ" because it's black and deadly.
"Kindness"
The unmentionable one is referred to as "The Executive Branch."

Witty. I like it. :)
I've always thought naming inannimate objects, other than boats or planes is ****ing dumb.
But that's just me. :p
I have a MAK-90 that my Father used to call Lucille.
When I'm on duty my 442 ankle Smiths name is Justin, Justin F'ing Case actually!:D

Girls names, especially. I know why people do it, but it still seems stupid. Full Metal Jacket was not so good a movie that it should dictate naming conventions. And naming a rifle with a girl's name is just plain creepy.
I have names so I can tell one thing from the other. Green gun because it's green. Mud gun because it was mud colored. Deuce because it's a 22. Green Glock and Black Glock. Green M&P and Pro. Scout.
I've wanted to name a gun El Cid for a long time but I don't think I've ever owned one worthy of the name. Maybe my RRA 1911 or Yost 1911.
Davy Crockett's rifle was named Old Betsy (long before Full Metal Jacket).

I was soooo kidding.
The whole point was to have a little fun at the expense of people that name their guns as a little bit creepy.
Irony man...Irony!!!

AR is 'Baby'
Kimber 1911 Custom Covert minus the digi-CTC laser grips is 'Gunner' because of its grips.
S&W 1911 Scandium frame all black- is 'Leroy' because Leroy Thompson used to own it.
Not really terms of affection but this way my wife knows which I refer to because her .40 SIG 239 w/CTC grips is named 'Mine' ! And that makes it easy for her at the range.
Michael
I asked and actually she sez her .40 SIG 229 is named ' Sparky' ??? WTF she was none to happy about my name for it ...but 'Mine' does have a certain ring to it !
My M4 is my "Weapon". The AK is the "AK". My Win. M-70 is "Lover" So named by mife. As in, You love that rifle soooo much. It must be your "Lover"!

The Mossberg 500 is The Rabbi. Has kind of a Jewish name, is dressed all in black, barrel trimmed according to the Law, and when the action cycles to chamber a round, the effect is the same as chanting the Shema, the Call to Worship--unruly congregants should immediately become reverent and attentive. If not, he preaches fire and brimstone.
The 6920 is Fluffy. All the cats are named after Imperial Japanese Navy warplanes, Val, Kate, Betty, Nell, so the carbine has to be Fluffy.
The Colt Agent BUG is Surprise. Yes, I've seen Master and Commander about a hundred times.
Can't think of names for my full-size sidearms, M9 and 1911. Tom and Jerry? Thelma and Louise? Smokey and the Bandit?
