What markings on a Colt 6920???

Hey everyone, I just bought a new Colt 6920. I was just wondering what markings should be on the upper? Any info anyone can offer will be very helpful. Thank you for your time. Sincerly Nick West.

cokebottles, do a search on the internet. Colt has some published marking information. I did. One thing i learned with my last 6920 purchase was the bolt had a hasty, scrached on marking "C" done by some sub-contracted manufacture of Colt.

All the other markings were in the book. This hasty/half-assed, "C" marking turned out to be common during times of short supply/high demand. Some of the guys on this forum know most of the answers about Colt markings, so wait around and somebody smarter than me will help with more detail. Good choice on your M4.

You will also find multiple variations of the "MPC" markings on Colt bolts.

Some of the more recent bolts even have the "MPC" ground down and a large "C" engraved over it.

However, the 6920 is known to have different forge marks than these examples, especially on the carry handle. Depends on the time and subcontractor used.

Additionally, there are white T-Marks on the top of the receiver, and an M4 mark on the top front of the receiver that can be seen just above top center of the delta ring.

Redfisher, the right side upper left hand on my 6920 has the same markings as the second picture that Molon posted. It is a "C" followed by what looks like a key hole.

Like Molons 8th picture down there is a M4 mark just where you said it would be, on the top front of the receiver just above the top center of the delta ring!

The carring handle has a square located where yours has a keyhole followed by the number 10.
This is one awesome gun, I love it!
