Im sure it's just a factor of production, but why make them coupled instead of making a 48 round mag that's made from a single mold?

I would say because molds cost money and this is a low-volume specialty item.

Probably because making a curved mag in one piece is hard when it is that long.

You are all pretty much dead on. We considered a longer magazine at the same time we tooled the 20round magazine. The longer magazine had some issues; Tooling was going to be challenging and expensive. We debated on capacity; 40rnds? 45rnds? Quantities were going to be relatively low and a new AWB would kill any $ invested in tooling.

I have three of the 30rounders and will be stocking up on more shortly.I've run about 280 rounds through the three of them combined and they're flawless so far.Stored them loaded for ten days before testing.I love these things.Thanks Lancer.The degree of research and development that went into making these is apparent.:)
