Any data on this length barrel? Particularly I'm looking for any data on ammo that will reliably fragment and at what distances it will fragment. Thanks in advance.

Have you read this info: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=19881

Do you need fragmenting ammo or non-fragmenting barrier blind ammunition?

What barrel twist are you running?

Yes, I have read that info but still have these questions. Basically I'm contemplating an SBR build with a 1/7 11.5 barrel. This would be primarily a home defense carbine. I hear statments like "Remember, with SBR’s, effective engagement distances are significantly reduced compared to the longer barreled carbines.", and I wonder just how much is "significantly reduced". Will something like the 75 gr Hornady TAP fragment out of this twist and length, and how far out would the fragmentation range be? 50yds, 100 yds, less?

So, the answer is 1/7 twist barrel and non-barrier-blind, frangible ammunition? :p
