hey everybody-

This is my first post on this forum, as I just purchased my first AR-15 a couple weeks ago. I've been an avid shooter for a few years now, and have been considering this purchase for a while. I finally decided to bite the financial bullet and get one before they were impossible to find, and ended up purchasing a Post Ban Bushmaster XM15 - E2S (I live in New York which still has a ridiculous "assault weapon" ban in place, thus the post ban rifle).

I would like to put on some kind of rail system, to allow the attachment of a verticle grip, and maybe a flashlight. However, this rifle (http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_xm15_PCWA3X_14M4IZ.asp) has a welded on muzzle break. I've been doing some research on the dissassembly of an AR 15, and i think you need to remove the muzzle break, in order to remove the front sight post, to remove the original forearm? (I'm not sure if this is the correct process, but you tell me- you guys are the experts :) )?

What are my options for installing a rail system on the forearm? I've seen those little sections of rail that attach to the factory forearm, can i install those with the welded muzzle break? Does the factory forearm split in two on removal, to bypass running it down the barrel? I've seen those after market split rail systems that bushmaster offers, any opinions on those? Any ideas or methods you guys could give me to get some rails on this baby would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
