The seven day waiting period for assault weapons here in Maryland expired today, so the 6920 came home with me today. Within half an hour I had the new MAGPUL MIAD, and PMAG installed, and installed the MAGPUL MOE stock when UPS delivered it a few hours later. The ACOG on LaRue Tactical mount and GG&G BUIS were previously on my Bushmaster, but will now stay on the Colt.

Excellent. Congrats!

If I did not already have a complete 6920 as well as a Noveske N4 Basic I would be doing what I needed to to buy one for the best price I could find. I would not be holding my breath for one in the $1400 range.

20 rd mags only in MD or do you just prefer them?Maryland has a rather strange law regarding magazines: you can't purchase any mags with a capacity of more than 20 rounds in the state, and you can't have them shipped any into Maryland either (i.e., no internet sales). However, there is a loophole in the current law: it isn't illegal to own 30 round magazines in Maryland, so if you already have them you can use them.

Congratulations. Nice. How does the MOE lock up on the 6920 receiver extension? I've been thinking of getting one for mine.

Congratulations. Nice. How does the MOE lock up on the 6920 receiver extension? I've been thinking of getting one for mine. The Magpul MOE stock locks up perfectly on the 6920. There's not even a hint of rattle.

grats! now buy some ammo and have fun!I have about 500 rounds currently on hand, and I buy a hundred rounds or so every two weeks on payday to replace any I have shot. I've been to the range twice with the 6920, and it has performed exceedingly well both times.

Nice. Looks like .170 pins.Funny you should mention that: I called Colt yesterday to ask about the pin size, and they told me my 6920 was manufactured in December of 2008 and it has the .170 pins.

Great looking rifle Jmorrell. If you don't mind me asking where did you get it and how much did it run you?

I just picked one up as well (6920). Trying to decide what to do to it first. It doesn't seem worth to change the stock because I had it pinned (for NJ) I would like to put on a quad rail. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've added a Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 free float rail system; a Surefire G2 LED light on a LaRue offset light mount; and the Grip Pod from an earlier AR build. Also included is a Tango Down PR4 sling attach point. I removed the GG&G BUIS so I can move the ACG back get a better sight picture. The Grip Pod will be replaced a LaRue FUG as soon as it arrives (hopefully next week).

Can you put on an oversized hand guard like 9 inches or does that require other significant modification?

Can you put on an oversized hand guard like 9 inches or does that require other significant modification?I have no experience with the longer hand guards: maybe someone else can help you.

The other question is how does one install a free float hand guard with a muzzle bake permanently attached? Aside from having a smith drill the pinned brake i dont know how one could do it.

I was talking to my Gunsmith today, he said something about soldering or pinning.

Aside from having a smith drill the pinned brake i dont know how one could do it.The DD Omega is a two piece free float handguard, so you don't have to remove anything to install it. It goes on in less than five minutes and the only tools required are a flat blade screwdriver and an Allen wrench (the Allen wrench is included with the Omega).
