I just picked up a bushmaster 14.5 m4 with izzy flash suppressor. for 999$ Gun seams to be fit real well, but the trigger is garbage . What do you guys think of the bushys?

My first AR was a Bushmaster.

If you get the Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) tweaked, it will be just fine for the range, etc.

Grant at G&R Tactical took care of it for me for $18...but that was a while ago and prices might have changed.

Painless process. Cheap insurance.

for 1k in this market i think you did pretty damn well

bushmaster is far from the best, but far from the worst. for a 1/9 their barrels perform well for the price.

rob_s' thread tells you all you need to know.

I also have a old preban colt lightweight sporter and a bastardized car on a LMT lower .just liked the idea of the 14.5 barrel but I have no problem putting in the LMT BCG and the LMT SOPMOD stock with the h buffer. That should get the bushy off to a good start

BB40, I have the same weapon. I love it. And I feel even better about it now that I have "tweaked" it. Take care of it, so it can do the same for you.

I had a trigger job done consisting of polishing the trigger /sear and hammer notch and reducing the hammer spring tension.

The trigger operation of my X15 is now smooth allowing for no movement on target when squeezed.

I think my Bushmaster is a fine, reliable and accurate carbine.

The rifle will serve you well if you do a few things that Rob indicates:

1. Stake the gas key
2. Put in a 5 coil extractor and black insert
3. H buffer
4. stake the castle nut.

I have one and did the above. It is a 100% gun after 4300 rounds and large varity of ammo. It's also the most accure AR I have. As someone said, its not the best but its not the worst either. Now a days you dont have alot to choose from.
