Now more than ever...
You may or may not have heard about the "Trojan Horse" healthcare provision in the stimulus bill. It is starting to get some notice, but it may be too late to change anything.

Some excerpts:
Pages 445, 454, and 479 of H.R. 1 EH provides for EVERY US CITIZEN'S medical records to be made electronic. But the legislation goes further to allow for "the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (p. 442, 446)."
Furthermore, "Hospitals and doctors that are not 'meaningful users' of the new system will face penalties, which will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose more stringent measures of meaningful use over time (p. 511, 518, 540-541)."
The bill calls for "rationing" of care to the elderly, and will affect every part of health care, from medical and nursing education, to how patients are treated and how much hospitals get paid. The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined (p. 90-92, 174-177, 181).
