I have purchased a G26 with fixed sights to carry as a BUG and has decided to buy a set of Heinie Slant Pro Straight 8's for it... Should I go for the wider notched rear sight (0.156") or should I opt for the basic (0.125") notch???

Opinions are welcome... This will be strictly a defensive weapon !

I personally liked the wider rear sight for the Heinies when I had a Glock. I also like Warren two dot night sights for my M&P9c but can't remember if they can be installed on a G26. I'm assuming they can and you should look at them and compare if you haven't bought yet. Good Luck!

The wide notch is my prefered option for the Heines. Another good option,IMO, is the sevigny carry sights produced by Warren Tactical.

I run Heinie 3 dot night sights with a rear notch widened to .140 with the .125 front sight. I like the .140 rear but I have not used the .156.

If Warren sights are an option, Warren sights are the answer! :D

I just got a set of the Heinie Straight Eights w/tritium. I thought I was getting the wider notch (brownells) They don't carry the wide notch. That set is on my training gun now, I may open the notch up to .156 I do like them though.

If not wanting or needing the tritium, do the combo with the Dawson FO front.

I think Rob has some pics somewhere

Thanks all...

Would you go for the standard Warren two do arrangement or would you suggest the Sevigny setup?

I like the 2 dot Warren cut sights, the 3 dots aren't bad either since the rears are yellow with out a white out line and the fronts are big and green with a white outline.

If you like Heinie sights you'll like the Sevigny cut Warrens. I prefer the Warren cut sights because I 'see' more of the target and they're faster to align for me....

Warren Tactical night sights with the 2-dot set up is my preference. Have them on both Glock 19's and my MP 45.
