i have a 1911, grn and blk, that i would like to get a solid black finish put on. i know there are numerous coatings out there, cerakote, armor tuff, etc. whats the best in your opinion. price, durability, leo discounts. thanks

I'm still a big fan of traditional bluing but also understand some folks need a bit more resilient finish. For those looking for a more rust and abrasion resistant "black" finish I would recommend IonBond's DLC or Black-T.

springfield armory quoted me $195 to complete black t the entire gun. plus $30 shipping and handling. would you say this is a good price or not. thanks
